Lee founded Cowen Consulting in 2012. A former Majority Counsel to the U.S. House Budget Committee and Managing Director of the nationwide state and local government relations practice at Dutko Worldwide, he has spent the bulk of his career providing companies and nonprofits with strategic advice and tactical implementation to educate governments in pursuit of mutually beneficial results.
MATT KONENKAMP
Senior Vice President
Matt joined the Cowen Consulting team in 2018 and greatly enhanced the firm’s ability to serve its clients in a hands-on partnership based upon his years of service to South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard. As a senior policy advisor to the Governor, Matt served as the liaison to three agencies, sat on the legislative task force, covered federal affairs and governors’ associations. Prior to working with Governor Daugaard, Matt practiced law and worked on political campaigns in South Dakota.
nicholas evans
Senior Vice President
Nicholas, a former Cowen Consulting client, joined the team in 2022 to increase the firm’s expertise around state government procurement, with a particular emphasis on information technology. He previously managed government relations for two multi-billion dollar enterprises with a primary focus around supporting business growth, while not losing sight of the need to mitigate risk. Nicholas has not only helped with proactive pursuits, but also led political response to Congressional and state-level investigations.
